Antibibliolatry was founded in 2014 by Dr. Alexandra Mercer, a former educational technology researcher at Wellington University. After spending a decade researching how technology transforms learning environments, she identified a critical gap between educational theory and practical implementation in schools and educational startups.
Starting with just three consultants working from a small office in Wellington, we quickly established ourselves as thought leaders in educational transformation. Our name, "Antibibliolatry," reflects our belief that education should transcend traditional text-based learning—not worshipping books for their own sake, but embracing diverse, engaging learning methodologies.
By 2017, our team had expanded to twelve consultants with specialized expertise in various educational domains. We had successfully guided over forty educational institutions through significant digital transformations and helped launch fifteen EdTech startups that secured substantial funding.
Today, Antibibliolatry operates internationally while maintaining our headquarters in Wellington. We've built a reputation for combining pedagogical expertise with business acumen and technological fluency—a rare integration in the consulting field that enables us to deliver comprehensive solutions that truly enhance learning outcomes.
